After my first son was born with eczema, I started questioning the products we were using on our skin. What I found was that the popular laundry detergent recommended for newborn babies actually contained substances that were causing his skin to break out. As soon as we switched to a natural detergent, his skin cleared up. I began to wonder how many other products in our home contained harmful ingredients. The answer shocked me.
Since then, I have been on a five year mission to rid our lives of toxic influences and use only natural materials while trying to consume less and waste less— from cleaning agents to detergents, personal care products, and even the clothing we wear.
It hasn’t been easy. The world hasn’t made it easy.
I have dedicated our family to certain clean brands; yet, there are still many natural or compostable products that are simply impossible to find.
That’s why I decided to take my experiences in the corporate world and build something better, by creating the products I wanted to use and offer them to the people who are also craving them. I wanted to make it easier for others to find quality, affordable natural products. But I couldn’t stop there.
The idea of plastic waste is antithetical to who I am as a human living on this planet. I had to find a way to make our products compostable, so it can return to our gardens, not to a landfill.
A few months after selling our home and moving across states, early one morning while filling my coffee pot with grounds, I chuckled. Whether it’s coffee or houseplants or even your mindset, life is all just a series of repotting.
Founding repotted hasn’t been easy. It has challenged me in ways I never would have expected. But the determination to get this brand right has felt like the culmination of my life’s experiences leading to people and purpose that I might never have imagined.
If you’re craving slow mornings sipping coffee or muddy boots waiting to water the garden, repotted was created for you.
If you’re ready to live intentionally; welcome home.
